RIM Tweets About New Devices Sporting BlackBerry 7
Research in Motion is coming out with new devices. This is in addition to the BlackBerry 9900 and 9930 that were said to be in the works earlier.
The company made it official by tweeting it from their Twitter account. But they didn’t refer to any specific model, except that the devices will be sporting the new OS, BlackBerry 7.
Since we have lately been hearing tid-bits about some RIM models, I think its safe to say that at least a few of these will make it to the front, like the BlackBerry Torch 9860 and 9850. The BlackBerry Torch 2 is another device which I think we might get firsthand information on.
Droid Bionic – 5 new killer features revealed
Motorola’s supersonic Droid Bionic smartphone was unveiled at CES in Las Vegas in January and the 4G model is due to drop in the States on 4th August. Alas, there’s no news of a UK release but while we wait lets look at what makes this arch-rival to the Samsung Galaxy S 2 and HTC Sensation such a mouth-watering prospect.
Screen
The Droid Bionic’s 4.3-inch screen is clearly a monster but falls just on the right side of portability. However, it’s the resolution that impresses, packing 540 x 960 pixels into a widescreen footprint that’s almost on par with the iPhone 4’s retina-stinging detail. Almost. But the qHD display does out shine the Samsung Galaxy S 2 on the resolution front.
Samsung Galaxy S2 Scheduled for August Release in USA
Samsung is preparing to release the Galaxy S2 at last! We give you the latest on the Attain, Within, Function and Hercules inside.
Shin Jong-kyun, President of Samsung Mobile Business and Digital Imaging, told a Korean newspaper this week that the Galaxy S2 will be launched in the U.S. market sometime in August. While Samsung has released several new Android smartphones in recent months, such as the Droid Charge for Verizon and Infuse 4G for AT&T, the new flagship we’ve all been waiting has only appeared in leaks and rumors. The Galaxy S2 is by far the most feature-rich smartphone Samsung has come up with to date, and is expected to be available on several carriers.

A Comparison Of The iPhone 4 And The Blackberry 9900 Bold Touch
The Blackberry 9900 Bold Touch is the handset that RIM hope will rekindle the brands name in the smartphone marketplace. Blackberry have always proved popular amongst certain areas but certainly have lacked the appeal held by the Apple iPhone 4 thanks to its simple operating system and attractive looks. So what does this new handset offer us and ultimately how does it shape up against the all conquering iPhone?
The BlackBerry Bold 9900 will be launched in a month claims RIM’s Co-CEO
BlackBerry’s latest new handset the Bold 9900 is not far away from launch said the co-CEO of the company Mike Lazaridis, who was speaking at the company’s annual shareholders meeting.
According to him the BlackBerry 9900 will be launched in about a month. He also went on to say that the Bold 9900 will mark the largest global launching in RIM’s market history. This is enough reason to believe that RIM has gone all in on the Bold 9900. And obviously RIM doesn’t want to leave anything half done with this handset and hence this handset has gone through 491 approval programs and 191 carriers.
RIM Announces Seven New BlackBerry Smartphones
It’s not just the Beckhams who are keen on the number seven – RIM has just announced that seven new BlackBerry blowers are on the way.
Speaking at RIM’s annual shareholders meeting, Co-CEO Jim Basillie announced that seven new BlackBerry handsets are on the way.
Basillie says they are due to launch ‘in rapid succession’ and he isn’t mincing is words – they will be arriving within the next couple of months, according to website IntoMobile.
Confirming the dates found on three of the four retailers we investigated yesterday, one of the summer releases will be the BlackBerry 9900, which comes equipped with a 1.2GHz processor, a 2.8-inch touch display and BlackBerry 7.
BlackBerry still hugely popular in UK
RIM’s BlackBerry might be on a sustained losing streak against Android and the iPhone around the world but it is still packing in new users in the UK, research company Kantar Worldpanel ComTech has reported.
In the 12 weeks to 12 June, the company increased its UK smartphone market share to an impressive 22.3 percent, making it second only to Android, which has 45.2 percent, and ahead of the iPhone’s 18.3 percent.
Significantly, 85 percent of new BlackBerry sales came from customers that had previously used conventional phone handsets, with the majority of upgraders being women. This could reflect the BlackBerry’s good reputation as a texting device, a mobile application reckoned to be a particular priority for women.
BlackBerry Curve 9350 & Torch 9850 Spotted On U.S. Cellular Rebate Form
Well it looks like the BlackBerry Curve 9350 and Torch 9850 are making their way to U.S. Cellular. We know that new BlackBerry products won’t be introduced till the late part of August and that bit of info is further confirmed by the rebate dates on this form, which show a start date of June 15th and end date of November 20th. These are only the dates the rebate form will be valid but that means the Curve 9350 and Torch 9850 will definitely be out within the next few months, hopefully no later than early September.
