If you’re looking forward to the latest handset from Canadian smartphone specialist Research In Motion (RIM), a confirmed launch date for the upcoming Bold Touch 9900 means you can now get a little more excited.
After tantalising us during the recent Communic Asia Event in Singapore, the BlackBerry Bold Touch 9900 will officially hit retail shelves on September 15, according to UK mobile operator Three (3).
That date apparently applies to the black version only. A white model is expected to follow a few weeks later.
Amazon have added a pre-order page for the Blackberry Bold 9900 which lists the launch date as the 15th September, which is news we brought you last week. However, interestingly they also added a White version which will launch a month later on October 15th.
This is the first we’ve heard of a White version, but it’s certainly a tantalising prospect. Both colours of the Bold 9900 are priced at £549.99, which is pretty expensive but the 9900 is a premium smartphone.
The BlackBerry Bold 9900 is expected to be the next big hit from RIM. Combining a touchscreen and classic BlackBerry keyboard with the much improved and polished BlackBerry OS7, it was officially announced in May to much interest in the smartphone world. As yet, though, details on when exactly we can expect to see the Bold 9900 on British shores and for how much have been thin at best, so we decided to do a little digging and asking around.
