T-Mobile USA to offer BlackBerry Bold 9900 for $300? More expensive than dual-core Android smartphones?
Is Research in Motion into the Apple-esque style of putting a tag price?
A new leak posted by TmoNews is claiming that T-Mobile USA could offer the new BlackBerry Bold Touch 9900 under $300, but that is not contract free — and will include a ball and chain 2 year contract agreement.
According to the document, the new BlackBerry Bold Touch 9900, which is the GSM version of Sprint and Verizon’s Bold Touch 9930 will be priced $599.99 off-contract, while the price tag for the Bold 9900 with 2 year-contract is $299.99, and that’s only after a mail-in rebate.
Verizon’s Blackberry Bold 9930 unveiled early thanks to website blunder
Oh boy, we don’t envy the Verizon web admin who made this particular mis-click. If you go to VZW’s sales page for the Blackberry 9650 and click on the “Explore Features” video, you get an unexpected treat: a walkthrough not of the 9650, but of the unreleased Bold 9930. The specs are familiar, like the 1.2GHz processor, 2.8-inch touchscreen and Blackberry 7 OS. But at least we now have it from the horse’s mouth that the new Bold Touch is indeed coming to Verizon. We’ve stuck our own rip of the video after the break, as the original will likely disappear any second — much like that poor web admin.
New BlackBerry Bold 9930 for Verizon leaked, no word on its launch date
Research in Motion officially announced the BlackBerry Bold 9930 back in May, at the same time with the Bold 9900. The two smartphones are pretty much the same, the sole difference being that the 9930 has both GSM / HSDPA and CDMA / Ev-Do connectivity, while the 9900 is a GSM / HSDPA device only.
Naturally, the CDMA / Ev-Do capabilities allow the 9930 to be used on Verizon’s and Sprint’s networks. While neither of the two carriers has announced the Bold 9930, the smartphone has been spotted recently showing off a Verizon intro screen – thus VWZ could introduce the new Bold soon.

A Comparison Of The iPhone 4 And The Blackberry 9900 Bold Touch
The Blackberry 9900 Bold Touch is the handset that RIM hope will rekindle the brands name in the smartphone marketplace. So what does this new handset offer us and ultimately how does it shape up against the all conquering iPhone?
