BlackBerry 9930 RIM Officially Announces BlackBerry 9930 Following Verizon Goof UpResearch In Motion (RIM) has hinted at the launch of its upcoming Smartphone on Tuesday as its network carrier partner leaked a video.

According to tech website Gizmodo, on Monday Canadian mobile phone maker company RIM announced via social networking websites Facebook and Twitter that its latest smartphone powered by the seventh version of its operating system will be launched a day after.

The action seems to be a marketing gimmick adopted by the company behind famous BlackBerry series as the very same day, Verizon, the network carrier leaked a video demonstrating the operations of OS 7 powered phone BlackBerry 9930.

New BlackBerry Bold 9930 for Verizon leaked, no word on its launch date

Research in Motion officially announced the BlackBerry Bold 9930 back in May, at the same time with the Bold 9900. The two smartphones are pretty much the same, the sole difference being that the 9930 has both GSM / HSDPA and CDMA / Ev-Do connectivity, while the 9900 is a GSM / HSDPA device only.

Naturally, the CDMA / Ev-Do capabilities allow the 9930 to be used on Verizon’s and Sprint’s networks. While neither of the two carriers has announced the Bold 9930, the smartphone has been spotted recently showing off a Verizon intro screen – thus VWZ could introduce the new Bold soon.

Motorola Droid Bionic Not Launching Until September?

Over the weekend, a phone that may or may not be Verizon’s upcoming Samsung Galaxy S II device leaked out. The device in question has a slide-out keyboard, 4G LTE capabilities and a release date that might be closer than we think. Well, it appears there is a good chance that this phone might actually be 4G LTE filler before the Motorola Droid Bionic arrives on Verizon, possibly in September.

September?

Here’s the deal. All along we’ve heard August 4th. Evidence has popped up today that again indicates that Walmart and Sam’s Club are still seeing August 4th as a scheduled release date. However, Droid-Life has also heardsomething else.

BlackBerry still hugely popular in UK

RIM’s BlackBerry might be on a sustained losing streak against Android and the iPhone around the world but it is still packing in new users in the UK, research company Kantar Worldpanel ComTech has reported.

In the 12 weeks to 12 June, the company increased its UK smartphone market share to an impressive 22.3 percent, making it second only to Android, which has 45.2 percent, and ahead of the iPhone’s 18.3 percent.

Significantly, 85 percent of new BlackBerry sales came from customers that had previously used conventional phone handsets, with the majority of upgraders being women. This could reflect the BlackBerry’s good reputation as a texting device, a mobile application reckoned to be a particular priority for women.
